Thoughts! Thoughts…now this is an area that I wanted for my soapbox. The staff and I have these grandiose ideas. We would like very much for all of the Missouri Conventions (and neighboring states) to support each other. We have this idea that if we share our information with each other; it can only make us stronger. Missouri alone has a large amount of people who go from convention to convention. Why not find a way to build a central database? Why not share Dealers, Artists, and Guests?
In the past, Visioncon has supplied our mailing list to any of the conventions that ask. We hope that does not bother anyone. We thought perhaps that you would like information on what other conventions are available. At the same time, the other conventions reciprocate with information to help Visioncon become better. In the end this is a win-win situation.
There has been a meeting of the con minds! Several of us got together in Columbia and discussed mutual cooperation through an organization called "Heartland Convention Association of Tomorrow" or HCAT for short. This organization will gather information to be shared among the various conventions. More to come as the details are worked out.
Well, the idea was there but no "umph" came out of it. Perhaps in the future, we will join as one and give all that we have.
