VISIONCON 2015 Turnout!!
Visioncon is Southwest Missouri's longest running Comic, Anime, Gaming and Sci-Fi convention with 2015 being Visioncon's 24th year. Held this past February 20th, 21st and 22nd the convention experienced over 25% increase in attendance over the previous year.
Over 1,500 attendees, including vendors, a multitude of cosplayers, clubs, organizations, and many more past through the doors during the weekend at the Radisson in Branson, MO.
Costume contests, vendor booths, panel discussions with industry professionals in the fields of television, movies, makeup, gaming, and much more were held throughout the weekend. There was also a 24 hour Anime room, overnight movie room, and 24 hour gaming available to allow all of our attendees round the clock entertainment!
Visioncon is proud to be a not-for-profit convention! Everyone from the event staff to the chairman are all volunteers donating their time and hard work to make each year not only the best convention possible, but to allow Visioncon to contribute even more to our charities. Our 2015 charities were Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue.
Fundraising activities are held throughout the convention and proceeds directly benefit our charities. This year over $3,100.00 was raised for C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue, and over $2,700.00 was raised for Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. And in the past 3 years alone Visioncon has raised over well over $15,000.00 for charity!
Help from our Sponsors
Major sponsors of this year's event were Best Buy, Eternal Armory, Arkvindicta Comics and Branson's IMAX Entertainment Complex. Becky Blair with IMAX said "We've been hoping for an event like Visioncon to happen in Branson. We're so excited to see how this event grows and can't wait for 2016!"
We are excited to be partnering with the IMAX throughout the year for upcoming events and movie premieres such as The Avengers, Age of Ultron, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Check out IMAX for dates and information!
